Coach's Education 2011

COACH'S CLINIC NUMBER 2; MAY 22, 2011

Many thanks to the coaches that attended the coach's clinic last Sunday

I have put together a document detailing the warm up exercises that we covered.

Click HERE to access the warm up document.

Remember all warm ups should generally contain the following elements:

- Dynamic, soccer specific movements.
- Ball familiarity.
- Functional game to prepare for the forthcoming game.
- Finish with some short, explosive sprints.
- Give the players a couple of minutes of their own time in order to do their final preparation.
- Ensure that goalkeepers get plenty of success in their warm up - plenty of hand and footwork

Use your warm up time to prepare your players both physically and mentally for the forthcoming practice.
Try and keep talking to a minimum as there is only so much information the team will take in.

Many thanks and I will see you at the next clinic!

Coaches,

Attached is information on using dynamic warm ups opposed to static stretching and laps.

This is some very good information and an insight into the benefits of using dynamic stretching in soccer.
